Boston's Tree on its way from Nova Scotia
Nova Scotia has provided Boston the city’s Christmas tree, free of charge for the past 45 years..
The tradition shows the appreciation that the people of Nova Scotia have for the City of Boston’s reactions following the 1917 Halifax Explosion, which was the deadliest non-natural disaster in their history, as well as as the largest man made explosion during its time.
The giant evergreen tree takes a 700+ mile trip on the back of a flatbed truck that takes several days, this year's trip unusually long since Boston's 2016 tree is coming from Cape Brenton located in the north easternmost region of the region.
