Did you guess? This weeks trivia answer is Gentiana ‘True Blue’.

Finding a deep, royal blue in the cut flower world is fairly rare. Gentiana fits the bill perfectly. It is vivid, it’s long lasting and it’s blue without being purple. There are other varieties and colors, the lavender is also lovely, but the blue is what really gets designer blood flowing. Paired with lime and soft green, perfection!

Gentiana is also a great plant for the garden. There are hundreds of varieties. Some more of a groundcover, some tall clumping showstoppers. All gorgeous and a great way to get that beautiful blue into your yard. Bonus, they seem to prefer colder zones like ours.
