Sure, Mother's Day is one of the big flower holidays, but dads like flowers too! My dad was an arborist and from a very early age he had me learning about the plants and flowers around me. I may not be a tree climber like he was but I still followed in my dad's footsteps and have found my path as a floral designer.

He was a bit gruff and burly but always softened when I brought him fresh flowers. One day I came in wearing an orchid in my hair, he asked if I wore flower blossoms often. I said I did. "Of course you do." he said with the smile of a proud papa.

Don't forget dad this weekend! A gorgeous flower arrangement, a cactus for those prickly types, or send him an herb garden to encourage more of dad's delicious home cooking.
